SUMMARY OF SPECIFICATIONS:

SCOPE:This project involves the rebuilding of the Rough & Ready Ditch Diversion Structure and Headgate facility which was catastrophically destroyed in the September 2013 flood. This project is located south of Hwy 66 and immediately west of Hwy 36 near the town of Lyons. This project will involve the demolition of the existing headgates; the installation and placement of a large boulder rip rap diversion structure across St. Vrain Creek, forming and pouring a headgate structure for the Rough and Ready and Palmerton Ditches, installation of two (2) concrete parshall flumes, importing and placing approximately 6,500 cu yds of fill material to repair a large breach in the ditches, two (2) ditch crossings, and site restoration.  SITE CONDITIONS: It is strongly recommended that the prospective bidders investigate the site of the work sufficiently to satisfy themselves of the extent and conditions of the project. The work will be conducted on a live stream and contractors should be prepared to handle the river flows.  BID CONDITION: The Contractor shall provide evidence that the Contractor is qualified to perform the Work indicated in the Contract Documents. The Contractor and the Contractor’s on-site representative who has immediate charge of the project shall each have satisfactorily completed the same responsibilities on at least one project which dealt with building large diversion structures in a live stream which is similar in size to the St. Vrain Creek within the last 5 years. See Section 2.3a– Special Conditions.
