SUMMARY OF SPECIFICATIONS:

SCOPE:This project involves the repairing of the Niwot Ditch Diversion Structure and Diversion Channel at St. Vrain Creek which was damaged in the September 2013 flood. This project is located north of St. Vrain Road and west of Airport Road on St. Vrain Creek in Boulder County. This project will involve replacement of the diversion structure in the creek, removing debris from the existing headgate and diversion channel; the installation and placement of fill and rip rap to repair areas eroded by the flood waters, stabilizing the existing diversion and head gate, importing and placing approximately 6,700 cu. yds. of fill material to repair the diversion and breach in St. Vrain Creek, and site restoration. SITE CONDITIONS: It is strongly recommended that the prospective bidders investigate the site of the work sufficiently to satisfy themselves of the extent and conditions of the project. The work will be conducted on a live stream and contractors should be prepared to handle the river flows. BID CONDITION: The Contractor shall provide evidence that the Contractor is qualified to perform the Work indicated in the Contract Documents. The Contractor and the Contractor’s on-site representative who has immediate charge of the project shall each have satisfactorily completed the same responsibilities on at least one project which dealt with building large diversion structures in a live stream which is similar in size to the St. Vrain Creek within the last 5 years. See Section 2.3a– Special Conditions.
