SUMMARY OF SPECIFICATIONS:
The mission of Nutrition Services is to provide a variety of healthy school meals and other food service at affordable prices in support of the educational goals of students. The District participates in the National School Lunch Program for reimbursement of meals that meet federal standards and is allocated USDA commodities for use in school meals through the Food Distribution Program. In accordance with federal Buy American law, the District desires to purchase domestic food products to the maximum extent practicable for school meals.  The District requests proposals in response to this Request for Proposal (RFP) for purchasing commercial bread products. One or more Vendors will be chosen to negotiate with the District under the terms of the proposal in effect for school year 2016-17 beginning on July 1, 2016 and ending June 30, 2017. Renewal of contract is optional with up to four one-year renewals.
