Mapleton Public Schools is soliciting proposals for a vendor for filter change service in all District buildings as per the following information. 1. Supply and change all filters in the District on an established schedule to be coordinated with the District’s Director of Operations and/or Maintenance Coordinator. 2. The schedule for filter change shall be based on an eight (8) week cycle beginning the first week of August and continue over the course of the school year to total five (5) filter changes yearly. No filter changes will be necessary during the months of June and July. Filters bid on this proposal shall be two-ply polyester stretched over wire frames for univent/cabinet unit heaters, no tachifier necessary. Roof top units/air handlers will be replaced twice yearly. The schedule for filter changes for roof top units and air handlers (all pleated filters) shall be based on two (2) changes per school year. The first change would be on the third week of July and the second change would be the first week in January.  SPECIFICATIONS 1. Pleated Filters – General 1.1 Air filters shall be medium efficiency ASHRAE pleated panels consisting of cotton and synthetic media, welded wire or metal media support grid, and beverage board enclosing frame. 1.2 Sizes shall be noted on drawing or other supporting materials. 2. Construction 2.1 Filter media shall be a cotton and synthetic blend, lofted to a uniform depth of 0.15” and formed into a uniform radial pleat. 2.2 A metal wire grid treated for corrosion resistance shall be bonded to the downstream side of the media to maintain radial pleats and prevent media oscillation. 2.3 An enclosing frame of no less than 28-point high wet-strength beverage board shall provide a rigid and durable enclosure. The frame shall be bonded to the media on all sides to prevent air bypass. Integral diagonal support members on the air entering and air exiting side shall be bonded to the apex of each pleat to maintain uniform pleat spacing in varying airflows. 3. Performance 3.1 The filter shall have a Minimum Efficiency Reporting Value of MERV 8 when evaluated under the guidelines of ASHRAE Standard 52.2-2007. It shall also have a MERV-A of 8 when tested per Appendix J of the same standard. The media shall maintain or increase in efficiency over the life of the filter. 3.2 The filter shall be classified by Underwriters Laboratories as UL Class 2. 3.3 Manufacturer shall provide evidence of facility certification to ISO 9001:2000 3.4 Manufacturer shall guarantee the integrity of the filter pack to 2.0” w.g. 4. Supporting Data 4.1 Provide product test report including all details as prescribed in ASHRAE Standards 52.2, including Appendix J 4.2 Filter shall be Camfil Farr 30/30 or approved reasonable equal 5. In the event the District includes manufacturer/brand name and numbers as a part of  the description of any item, the vendor may submit quotations on that or a proposed equal product provided they are equivalent and substantiated to be so by submitted specifications and/or samples. 6. When the description includes the wording “no substitute” in addition to the manufacturer/brand name and number, quotations will be accepted only on the item specified.  7. The District reserves the right to make sole judgment as to acceptability of proposed   equal products without qualification or explanation.
